To mess about is to play with something and it is through play that children learn and develop. Messy Play is designed with children's natural curiosity in mind. It encourages a positive approach to new experiences, where there is no "right" way for children to do messy play and as such this builds self-confidence and self-esteem
In our sessions the children will be provided with tools to develop and practise fine motor skills and hand eye co-ordination. Activities such as pouring, measuring, mixing, scooping and beating will develop eye-hand co-ordination. Using tools such as tongs, brushes, crayons, chalks etc will develop their fine motor skills. Hands on activities will allow children to compare textures such as smooth, rough, slimey, hard and soft.
What looks like a mess to you is a learning experience for your child plus lots of fun!
During the sessions there will be lots of activities for everyone to explore where they can pour, squeeze, squelch, mix and paint.
Children will use all their senses in the process of exploration – there is no right or wrong way to play, it’s all about having fun!
Children can be stripped down to their vests /nappies, just remember to bring a towel & change of clothing for after! All you have to do is come along have fun and we will do all the rest, including the clean up!
